The Center for Community Media (CCM) is a digital media production, teaching, and research center supported by Governors State University's College of Arts and Sciences.Ìý

Designed to serve all corners of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, as well as our neighbors in local communities, CCM combines hands-on experience and impactful community conversations to boost media literacy and media production skills, supporting students, faculty, staff, and community members so that they can keep up with today's fast-paced media environment and use media tools to tell their own stories, regardless of their chosen career path.Ìý

CCM supports learning across all all phases of community-based digital media production through participation in its core initiatives: , Media Across the Curriculum, and Media Research Institute Fellowship. You can learn more about these initiatives below.Ìý

CCM also strengthens the backbone of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµâ€™s programmatic offerings with robust co-curricular trainings and events focused on storytelling that connects the local experience with state, national, and global issues. Check out our events calendar.

Jaguar Student Media

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's student-led, student-produced multimodal digital media network. Jaguar Student Media includes: The Phoenix digital news site; Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ News, our award-winning monthly TV news magazine; and Radio Jaguar, a 24/7 streaming radio station. !

Media Across the CurriculumÌý

Supporting media literacy, digital media production, and community development in classrooms by partnering student media interns with non-media faculty to guide media projects in any discipline.Ìý MAC also produces annual First Voice Story Slam, inviting all students to tell their own stories for a shot at prizes and bragging rights.

Media Research InstituteÌý

A year-long Fellowship supporting full-time faculty and staff at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ in the creation of original pieces of digital media (audio, video, or multimedia) to support ongoing research fostering democratic engagement, increasing civic awareness, and amplifying authentic voices.
